Learning Target: Student will be able to use Google Sites in order to create their own petition, advocating for change within their school community.

Task: The 6th grade Students were inspired by characters within the book First Rule of Punk by Cecelia Perez to create change in their school community. The worked collaboratively in groups of 4 or 5 to identify changes, and create a petition using google sites and Flip Grid. This allowed for the students to engage in several STEAM related activities in order to make their learning meaningful.

Learning Target: Student will be able to draft their arguments, advocating for change within their school or community.

Task: The 8th grade Students were inspired issues within the book All American Boys by Brandon Kiely and Jason Reynolds to write arguments and position papers related to issues of Policing and Police Brutality. Student conducted research and ultimately drafted their position papers to share with targeted audiences.
