Mrs. Clayton


Hello! My name is Abby Clayton. I am from Irwin County. This is my eleventh year teaching in education. I graduated from Irwin County High School in 2007. I then received my bachelors from Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW). I have also completed my Masters Degree from Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW)


I have been married eleven years to Damon Clayton. Our daughter Ella will start the 4th grade this year. Our son Thatcher is 3 years old and will be starting a 3 year old program this year.



Mr. Hunt

Hi! My name is Mr. Christopher Hunt. I am originally from Compass Lake, Florida which is about 45 minutes north of Panama City. This will be my sixth year teaching. My first four years of teaching was in Coffee Middle School in Douglas, Ga in 7th grade math. This will be my second year teaching 5th grade math here at Irwin county.

I received my Bachelors Degree from Florida State University in Civil Engineering in 2008 and completed my Teacher preparation courses through OK RESA's GATAPP program.

Ms. Hurt


Hey! My name is Ashley Hurt. I am originally from Irwin County but I lived in Bowling Green, Kentucky for seven years. I graduated from Greenwood High School in 2007. After graduating I came back to Georgia to go to college. I received my bachelor's degree from Georgia Southwestern State University. This is my tenth year teaching at ICES and my third year teaching 5th grade.

Mrs. Simpson

I am a 5th grade Math and Science Teacher. We have loads of fun, and we experience new adventures every day. My goal is for you to gain long-term knowledge that will make you successful inside and outside the math classroom. You will learn many different standards and tools to make you a great student at ICES.

All About Me


I am thirty-three years old. I have been married for 13 years to Eric Simpson. We have two children and a busy life on the weekends. My husband races and my youngest son plays travel ball along with school football. I also have a new baby girl.


Mrs. Ward

I am Mrs. Teresa Lester Ward. I'm married to Freddie Ward. I have three adult children: DeVario, Deja and Louie. Cookie is the baby of the family; she's my two-year old American bulldog. I relocated to Douglas from Jacksonville, Georgia, four years ago.

I've been teaching for 20 years. I received my bachelor's degree from Georgia Southern University in 1995 and middle grades certification from Valdosta State University in 2001. I earned my master's degree in 2004 and my specialist's degree in 2009.

My hobbies are writing letters to family and friend, shopping and playing softball. My favorite color is green. I also love to listen to old school music. Sweets are my weakness especially cheesecake.
