Legislation was introduced and passed-House Bill 301 (Mental Health Literacy Education) to be implemented in the 2023-2024 school year, the bill was amended and the implementation date was extended to begin in the 2024-2025 school year. The district vetted multiple Mental Health Literacy platforms and we have selected RethinkEd. In addition to addressing Mental Health Literacy, this digital platform also addresses additional ancillary state requirements in one platform (such as: Universal Screening, Drug and Alcohol Education, Erin’s Law & Personal Body Safety, Suicide Prevention and Awareness, Bully Prevention, Social Emotional Learning, and Digital Citizenship).
Each month, different topics will be covered. For each topic (and each grade level) there are Home Connection letters that can be provided to families with more information on the topic, discussion points, and further resources. If you would like a copy of a specific Home Connection letter, please contact a member of the Counseling Team. Below is a list of which topics will be discussed each month. Please note that for each topic there are age appropriate lessons that will be provided.
