Roles of the Scientific Board of Vall Salina e-Journal

The Scientific Board of Vall Salina e-Journal consists of researchers and experts in salt anthropology. Its primary task is to provide academic guidance for the journal and ensure the scientific quality of published articles.

1. Defining the Journal’s Scientific Scope

• Proposes topics of interest for the academic community, focusing on the exploitation and use of salt in different historical and cultural contexts.

• Advises on priority research areas to foster scientific debate.

• The Scientific Board is divided into three committees:

  • Territorial Representation

  • Cultures, History, and Societies

  • Landscape and Geobiosciences

2. Selection of Authors and Contributors

• The Editor-in-Chief assigns monographic topics to the relevant scientific committees.

• The committees meet each March via videoconference to select researchers and specialists for publication.

• Encourages prestigious scientists to contribute, reinforcing the journal’s international reputation.

3. Evaluation of Scientific Quality

• Proposes expert peer reviewers for the evaluation process.

4. Ethical and Academic Advisory

• Ensures compliance with ethical standards in scientific publishing.
