Congratulations Seniors!
We are half way through your senior year. We've had a lot of great moments so far and are looking forward to many more.
Below is a quick snapshot of the rest of the year. We know as the days go by your excitement, energy, and emotions are high, we hope this helps you plan and be ready for June 26th.
February

Prom planning has begun and we need help. Prom meetings are Thursdays after school in the Library. Hope you can come help plan a great event.

Spring Pie Sale with SYSCO - helps pay for Prom, Senior Trip, Senior BBQ

-Guest Pass for Prom - Seniors can bring 1 guest to Prom. A guest pass is needed if a guest is in 10th grade at IR, 10th - 12th grade attending another school, or a guest who is under the age of 21. Eligible juniors and seniors at IR do not need a guest pass and can only purchase 2 tickets, theirs and a guests.
-the Main Office will have guest passes available starting on Thursday, April 2nd. All guest passes need to be handed in by April 23rd. They can be handed in early to eliminate the rush.
-tickets are sold during lunches only in the foyer outside of the cafeteria. If they have a guest pass submitted, they have to wait until it is approved before buying their guests ticket. Tickets are NOT sold at the door.
-a guest pass does not mean your guest can buy (walk to the table to purchase) their own ticket, you are their sponsor and will buy (walk to the table to buy) their ticket. -as a sponsor you and your guest arrive together and exit together.

Tickets are $50 PER PERSON and are NOT sold at the door.
-complimentary boat ride on Uncle Sam's Boat Tour. When you buy your ticket, please let the sellers know what time you would like to go on the tour.
Students will board the boat at Bonnie Castle's docks.
Tour #1 board at 6:45 cruise from 7-7:45
Tour #2 board at 7:45 cruise from 8-8:45
**All guests need to be at Bonnie Castle by 9:00 p.m. If you are attending more than 1 prom that evening, please reach out to Mrs. Neaves or Mr. Marshall to let them know of your plans.**
Senior Trip paperwork will be available in the Library, Senior Cafeteria, and in Mrs. Alexander's room. Due date TBD.

Trip is Thursday, June 18th. Seniors will be traveling on Premier Coach Buses to Six Flags New England, Agawam, MA

An iterinary will be provided at a later date. 2 coach buses have been reserved. The buses usually leave the h.s. parking lot around 6:00 a.m. return around midnight.
Students will need to find their own transportation to the school that morning and home upon their return.
Cost is $100 which includes admittance into the park/water park and a meal.
Nominate commencement speaker. The commencement speaker is an adult. You are welcome to nominate a coach, teacher, or other school professional to speak at your graduation. Once nominees accept the nomination, students will vote via a Google form.
Graduation ticket request letter sent home via ParentSquare/StudentSquare and physical paper copies available in the Library, Mrs. Alexander's room, and the Senior Cafeteria. Due date TBD. Members of the senior class do not need a ticket as they will be sitting on stage. All guests will need a ticket, the only exception are young children who will be sitting on a lap. Anyone who needs a seat, needs a ticket. The class purchases the tickets, there is NO CHARGE to families.
June
Monday, June 1st - 5th
CAP AND GOWN DISTRIBUTION
All orders will be handed out after school ONLY in the Library. Do NOT leave an assigned class to come pick up your order.
It will take 10 seconds for you to give us your name, we hand you your order, check in regarding graduation ticket request letter, and Senior Trip paperwork being due. Please be careful with your order when you get home. We have had family pets chew caps and gowns, so please store them in a safe place.
Tuesday, June 16th
Senior BBQ - 10:30 end of the day - seniors will be provided lunch and we will arrange for an ice cream truck to be on campus.
Food, fun, games, and music.
Thursday, June 18th Senior Trip
Six Flags New England, Agawam, MA
SENIOR WALK THRU - DATES AND TIMES WILL BE DECIDED AT A LATER DATE. SECRETARIES IN THE PRIMARY BUILDINGS IN WHICH YOU ATTENDED WILL SEND INFORMATION HOME. THEY COMMUNICATE DATES AND TIMES WITH US AND WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO COMMUNICATE THEM TO ALL OF YOU. DATES ARE USUALLY THE WEEK OF GRADUATION, USUALLY IN THE LATE MORNING.

Commencement Ceremony 7:00 p.m.
Indian River Theatre of Performing Arts
Doors open at 6:00 p.m.
-ceremony is livestreamed on district website and family friendly viewing available in the Cafeteria. Tickets are required.
The Senior Class has hired a professional photographer to be at graduation. Each graduate will receive a photo of the graduating class and an individual picture of you with your diploma. Fundraising funds will be used to provide this service and to pay for postage. Please be sure to keep your address current with the Guidance department, we want to make sure you receive your photos in a timely fashion.
Sorry this is a book, we hope you have a fantastic end to your Senior Year!

We met with the Senior Class yesterday to highlight what our year will look like.

COMMUNICATION

If you are interested in running for Senior Class Officer, please fill out the Google Form on the senior class website today (must be done by 9-12).

The official vote, next week (9/15 - 9/19), will be available on the senior class website as well. Please read the daily afternoon announcements and check the senior website regularly for updates.

Pop Up Food Trucks/Chicken BBQ - scheduled periodically, usually busy Friday nights, Food Truck makes monetary donation to Class
Senior Wear - once officers are selected they will design an IR Class of 2026 Senior Wear Sale
PROM - May 9th (8-11) @ Bonnie Castle, Alexandria Bay. $50. An optional 45 minute Uncle Sam's Boat Tour is included.
GRADUATION - Friday, June 26th Indian River Theatre of Performing Arts 7:00 p.m.
IRCSD will livestream the event on the district site. The link will be there during the week of graduation. Tickets are needed, the class buys the tickets, we do not charge graduates for the tickets. A letter will be sent home in May via ParentSquare/StudentSquare to request additional tickets. We do our best to meet the needs of all graduates and their families. The cafeteria is open for family friendly viewing.

Need more information? Jostens packets are available in the Library, Mrs. Alexander's room, Senior Cafe, and Student Services. These packets include a ring sizer in case you are interested in ordering a class ring. Anyone who purchases a class ring from Jostens earns a free cap and gown.

Officers will propose all activities to the class advisors before any decisions are made. This includes cap decorating. If there is enough interest, officers will present the idea to the Board of Educaiton, upon their approval students will need to complete a contract and meet deadlines for cap approval.
SENIOR TRIP - TBD - Officers will select the location of the senior trip. We will start all planning in the spring. Trip is a day trip only. Cost is estimated at $100. Previous classes have gone to: Six Flags New England, Hershey Park, Darien Lake, Lake George.
