Each month every child is responsible on a rotating basis to provide a snack for his/her class. We also appreciate a monthly snack/activity fee of $2.00. This is a voluntary donation to your child’s kindergarten program. The snack/activity fee of $2.00 per month will help to cover special activities and classroom cooking projects. If you choose to participate, please send money to your child’s Kindergarten teacher in a labeled envelope. You may choose to pay monthly or with a one time fee of $20.00. Please make checks payable to your child’s Kindergarten teacher. This is a very valuable part of our program. It provides children with more activities involving food throughout the school year. Thank you for your support!

About once a month, each child will be the “Snack Helper” by providing a nutritious snack for the whole class. A “Snack Calendar” will be sent home each month with your child’s special sharing day on it. It will also be their “Show and Tell” day. They may bring in a small toy or special item to talk about. Here are some ideas for nutritious snacks that the children will enjoy (use this as a guide but feel free to be creative or share family favorites.) Pretzels, grapes, sliced apples, oranges, bananas, popcorn, veggies & dip, crackers, cheese, raisins, applesauce, cookies, yogurt, fruit cups...Please check with your child’s teacher for any food allergies.

We would prefer to save cupcakes for special days, like our birthday celebrations. We will try to assign your child’s snack day on, or around his/her birthday, but if we miss it, please let us know!
