On the first day of school I will give your child a folder. This folder will be used as our school to home communication. There will be a side labeled "Keep at Home" and a side labeled "Return to School". Anything that has to come back for me, office use, or district will be in the "Return to School" side. Please see to it that these items are tended to and returned in a timely manner. The "Keep at Home" side will consist of finished work, notices, information, or other items that your child has been given to take home. However, there may be a time that papers cross to the wrong side, please use your discretion.
Please get you and your child into the habit of checking his or her folder daily. Have your child show you the work and papers that come home from school and promptly return the folder to his or her backpack so that it will be ready for school the next day. Taking care of this folder will be your child's responsibility at school and I hope that you help them continue that responsibility at home.
During each month I will send home a calendar and newsletters highlighting special days for activities, events, classroom updates, and requests. This will be essential for keeping you informed as to your child's day to day in school. Also, there may be some spontaneous pop up notices due to what comes up at the right time. Please set time aside to review the contents of your child's folder on a daily basis.
Any money that is sent to school with your child needs to be in his or her folder, enclosed in an envelope or baggie clearly labeled with its intended use and your child's name. We cannot be responsible for any loose money in backpacks or pockets. Please send correct change.
