Math Curriculum
The Indian River Central School District uses the Math Modules generated by New York State.
There are six modules in the kindergarten curriculum.
Module 1: Numbers to 10
Module 2: Two-Dimensional and Three-Dimensional Shapes
Module 3: Comparison of Length, Weight, Capacity, and Numbers to 10
Module 4: Number Pairs, Addition and Subtraction to 10
Module 5: Numbers 10-20, Count to 100 by Ones and Tens
Module 6: Analyzing, Comparing, and Composing Shapes
Literacy Curriculum
Here at IRCSD in K-2, we follow the Literacy Collaborative Framework. The framework is made up of three parts: Language/Word Study, Reading Workshop, and Writing Workshop.

I will be using the Next Generation Science Standards to guide my science instruction. There are three main topics in the curriculum: Earth & Space Sciences, Life Science, and Physical Science. These topics are the same for grades K-5. The units taught are different for each grade level.
