Peter and the Starcatcher

Synopsis:

Peter and the Starcatcher is a play which contains epic adventures on the high seas, a shipwreck, magic and the battle for survival on the faraway Mollusk Island. An orphan Boy (soon to be named Peter) and his mysterious new friend, Molly, overcome bands of pirates and thieves in their quest to keep a magical secret safe and save the world from evil.

Molly and Peter take a voyage from a filthy, crime-ridden port in England across the turbulent sea with Peter's fellow orphan mates Prentiss and Ted, as well as a motley crew of sailors captained by the nutritious sea captain Slank aboard the Never Land. Upon a second ship, captained by the Queens own Captain Scott, Molly's father Lord Leonard Aster has been charged to see to a safe voyage of Queen Victoria's precious treasures across the sea: a trunk that holds the "greatest treasure on earth," thought by its pursuers to be gold or jewels but revealed to be "starstuff!" Through a mutiny and Pirate take over of the Queen's ship, the trunk is moved from place to place through storms and sea battles: once in a dry, guarded cabin, next in a ship full of greedy pirates, and then out in the open sea.

While they try to keep the starstuff out of the wrong hands, the Never Land shipwrecks! Molly saves Peter from death, and they land on a mysterious island known as Mollusk Island. Here the unlikely gang of Peter, Molly, Prentiss and Ted try to out run natives, flee a giant crocodile, meet some mermaids and finally come head to head with Pirates! Peter does battle against the dread pirate Black Stache who is rendered one hand less than he arrived to the island with. With the danger gone, the starstuff safe and Peter a hero, Molly and her father, Lord Leonard Aster, return to the real world, while Peter and the Lost Boys remain on Mollusk Island, which they rename "Neverland," in memory of the ship where their whole adventure began.
