The Indian River Central School District is offering a limited number of free wireless hotspot devices called "Kajeets" to students who do not have Internet access at home. This Kajeet device lending program is intended to help IRCSD students access online resources at home to help bridge the digital divide and ensure educational equity. To ensure peace of mind, these devices will be filtered in addition to the district's off-site content filtering service. This program is limited to one device per household, which should meet the needs of the majority of our students.
This hotspot loan program will include considerations for households without physical broadband access (i.e. no option for Spectrum or other cable providers) as well as considerations for financial need. Please note that hotspots will require at least moderate cellular signal strength in the household area.
To request an IRCSD Kajeet Wireless Hotspot, please start by completing and submitting the IRCSD Wireless Hotspot Request Form. If approved, you will be provided with details about device pickup. At the time of pickup, students and parents will be expected to complete the IRCSD Kajeet Hotspot User Agreement. Additional resources are provided below, including a copy of the IRCSD Electronic Technology Acceptable Use Agreement, Kajeet Hotspot Guide for Students and Parents, and Kajeet Hotspot Support Videos.
