Once we've collected and displayed the 1,000,000 pennies, IRCSD will be donating all the money to the Jefferson County SPCA.
About the Jefferson County SPCA:
What they do:
- The SPCA of Jefferson County is a non-profit organization dedicated to finding permanent and loving homes for homeless pets, providing shelter, healthcare, and behavioral evaluation before adoption.
Stats:
- In 2019, the SPCA took in 2,401 animals, found loving homes for 2,099 animals and completed 2,058 surgeries.
Funding:
- Most people are under the impression that Jefferson County SPCA is funded by Jefferson County because the name of the county is included in our name. The name references the area we serve, not who we receive our funding from. We do not receive financial backing from the county or from any other government agency. The shelter is funded and supported solely by the generosity of the community through memberships, donations, memorials, bequests, participation in our fund raising events, and through the dedication of our volunteers.
