The iQConnect Engagement Program is designed to provide additional support to students who may be facing challenges with attendance, motivation, and classes at iQLA. Our program specifically targets the needs of these students, allowing our dedicated engagement coaches to offer interventions and support strategies.
The goal of the Engagement Program is to equip students with the necessary skills and support for academic success. Through weekly support sessions, we foster a community of learners focused on developing essential skills, thereby enhancing academic achievement and creating a positive and engaged learning environment.
Students will meet weekly with their engagement coach to address any attendance and grade-related issues. Many students may face challenges in motivation, organization, and goal-setting. During our initial meetings with students and families, engagement coaches will establish personalized goals for each student. These goals will be refined throughout the quarter during targeted support sessions.
Our support targets include:
Ensuring courses are passed with a grade of 60% or higher
Meeting daily attendance requirements
Through engagement support, our aim is for students to gain not only study skills but also recognize the importance of communication with teachers, support staff, and learning coaches in achieving academic success. Additionally, we plan to initiate Talking Circles at the start of each support quarter to gain deeper insights into the specific obstacles hindering students' progress at iQLA.

Hello! I am an alumni of UMASS, Amherst with a BA in History, and from UCLA with my Master's in Education. I have been working with youth since 1999, as a tutor, classroom teacher, mentor, camp counselor, program director, and more. I love supporting and inspiring students to find their life path, and then helping them fulfill it. Families and students please contact me, even if it seems small. I value our relationship, and I believe that the more we communicate, the better things will be. Take care and talk soon! Peace and best wishes :)
