A delegation from the Government of The Gambia, including officials from the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science, and Technology, paid a visit on 1-June 2023 to the Atal Incubation & Innovation Centre, Dwarka Campus of the University to explore opportunities for collaboration in education and research.
The delegation consisted of H.E. Mr. Mustapha Jawara, High Commissioner, Mr. Lamin Jawara, Permanent Secretary, Mr. Mucktarr M.Y. Darboe, Dy. Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Fatou A. Barry, Dy. Director, Management Development Institute, Mr. Buba Kinteh, Finance Attaché, and Ms. Penda K Njie, Counsellor.

Vision
To provide an enabling environment for nurturing the impactful ideas into commercialisable innovative products, technologies, services and S & T based solutions which can benefit the society and foster synergy between industry and academia on one hand and with the National Laboratories and IITs on the other hand.
MISSION
To develop, promote, nurture and accelerate innovation, incubation and entrepreneurial culture and create an ecosystem for the purpose in the University;
To develop and scale up ideas (beyond proof of concept), prototypes, products, technologies from the University faculty or those received from outside the University into commercializable entities and build entrepreneurs around them; and
To provide necessary support system for start ups emanating from the University and to those who have joined the University incubator seeking desired knowledgebase and support from the University.
Enabling Functions
To provide incubatees translational research facilities, incubation facilities, technological support system, office space & support and an enabling ecosystem;
To create and nurture for the University, an ecosystem which catalizes and builds the culture of entrepreneurship amongst the faculty and the students;
To incubate start ups, hand hold them and nurture them for achieving their goals of conceptualizing and developing the commercialisable products and services and thus helping in their journey of advancement in the innovation and technology business space.
To conceptualize, create and maintain and thus nurture outcome driven Academia - R&D Institution - Industry relationship in the Science, Technology and Innovation space;
To develop linkages with the University alumni for boosting the innovation activities aimed at developing and commercialising products, technologies and services in partnership with industry, in particular for the MSME segment of the industry;
To undertake HRD activities for inculcating entrepreneurial mindset, skills and expertise in an end to end manner; and
To connect seamlessly with the National and International innovation system and technology and business incubators in particular.
