2024- Ten Waubonsie Valley culinary arts students completed in Disney’s Cook Around the World culinary improv competition at Epcot’s World Showplace in Orlando, Florida.
Similar to cooking competition shows on television, students had 90 minutes to prepare a main and side dish using items from a mystery basket to represent a randomly assigned continent. The Warriors worked with steak, asparagus, fingerling potatoes, and chives that had to be used in a dish that represented Europe. Students created a Greek salad as an appetizer and beef souvlaki with a homemade tzatziki sauce, grilled asparagus, and potato hash,
There were three sessions throughout the weekend and, of our general session and continent, our team won 4th place for our appetizer and 6th place for our main dish.

2023 - Six Waubonsie Valley culinary arts students finished in second place in Disney’s Cook Around the World culinary improv competition at Epcot’s World Showplace in Orlando, Florida.
Similar to cooking competition shows on television, students had 90 minutes to prepare a main and side dish using items from a mystery basket to represent a randomly assigned continent. The Warriors worked with a whole chicken, zucchini, rice, and fresh sage that had to be used in a dish that represented North America. Students created a Tex-Mex barbecue chicken enchilada and zucchini coleslaw dish.
Waubonsie finished second place in the main dish category and third place in the side dish category. The team included Rylee Campbell, Emma Divincenzo, Morgan Patinka, Michael Petges, Taylor Wesely, and Tori Wueste.
