Zones of Regulation
The Zones of Regulation is a visual and cognitive framework that helps people understand and manage their emotions and energy levels by categorizing them into four color-coded "zones". The Blue Zone represents low energy (tired, sick), the Green Zone is the calm, optimal state for learning (calm, focused), the Yellow Zone involves heightened but still controllable energy (excited, worried), and the Red Zone is for extremely intense emotions and loss of control (angry, panicked). By identifying their zone and applying learned strategies, individuals can learn to regulate their emotions and improve their ability to meet their goals.Â
