About Mrs. Klassen

I grew up in Ann Arbor, MI (GO BLUE!!) and moved to Illinois in August 2003 when Mr. Klassen was hired to teach 7th grade math at Gregory Middle School (also in IPSD204). We have two kids. Our daughter, Carter, is 18 and doing a GAP year in northern Wisconsin and our son, Abbott, is 15 and a sophomore in high school. Some of my favorite things are: organizing things, spending time in northern Michigan, watching movies, gardening, and hanging out with my family and our very energetic labradoodle, Cazzie!

From 2003-2007 I taught 3rd grade at Fry Elementary School. I loved teaching, but once I became a mom I wanted to stay home with our kids while they were little. I returned to teaching in 2016. I taught 5th grade at Owen for three years and this is my seventh year in 3rd grade! 

My bachelor’s degree is in Elementary Education from Eastern Michigan University. In 2006 I graduated from Rockford University with a Master of Arts in Teaching: Instructional Strategies.
