Coaching Staff

2024-2025 was Coach Schweitzer's 4th year as HC at WV. The Warriors finished the season 31-3 and set a program record for wins. Over the last two years, the Warriors have gone 58-6 and won back-to-back DVC and Regional Championships, the best two-year run in school history. Schweitzer is a two-time IBCA District 9 Coach of the Year (2024/2025). He is a Special Education Teacher at WV and co-teaches Government and Consumer Economics. Coach Schweitzer went to Augustana College, where he played football.

2024-2025 was Coach Healy's 3rd year in the program. He has been a huge part of the historic run of the last two years, and he also serves as the Director of Feeder Operations for the Future Warriors Program. Coach Healy played basketball at Wheaton-Warrenville South HS. Before coming to Waubonsie Valley, Coach Healy coached at Missouri, Indiana St., Southern Illinois, and for the Breakaway AAU Program. He is a Special Education Teacher at Fischer Middle School. Coach Healy went to The University of Missouri, where he was a student-manager for the basketball team.

2024-2025 was Coach Starks 1st season in the program. He is a recent WV graduate and has experience working with the Chicago Bulls. Starks coached in our Future Warriors Program and will be coaching with the Breakaway AAU Program this Spring and Summer. He has a bright future. He is the building sub at WV. Coach Starks went to the University of Illinois.

2024-2025 was Coach Starwood's 4th year in the program as a coach. Coach Starwood was an All-Area player for the Warriors in the early 2000s. In addition to his coaching duties at WV, Coach Starwood trains some of the area's premier youth, high school, college, and pro players. He is the General Manager at Shoot360 in Naperville. He also coaches for the Illinois Wolves, an AAU program on the Under Armour Circuit. Coach Starwood went to Aurora University, where he played basketball. 

2024-2025 was Coach Payne's 6th year in the program. His Sophomore teams have experienced a lot of success, winning conference the last two years. This past year, the Sophomore team finished 24-3. Before WV, Coach Payne spent many years as an assistant at Glenbard South. He is a Special Education Teacher in the Glenbard District and has three sons who have or will be a part of the program. Coach Payne went to Depauw University, where he played football and basketball.

2024-2025 was Coach Pelligrini's 4th year in the program. He is an integral part of our staff and leads community outreach and fundraising efforts. Coach Pelligrini has coaching stops in Minnesota and New York. He also coaches for the Illinois Attack, an AAU program. He owns his own IT Staffing Business in the Naperville area. Coach Pelligrini went to West Virginia University and has one son who is currently in the program.

2024-2025 was Coach McMath's first season in the program. Coach McMath is well-known in the area, owning Supreme Courts and coaches for the Illinois Attack AAU program. The players love Coach McMath and the energy he brings to the court. Coach McMath went to Northern Illinois University.

2024-2025 was Coach Gill's 10th year in the program. He has worked under three different head coaches. He is a staple in the program and has experienced success at multiple levels. Coach Gill is an alumnus of WV and excelled as a baseball player during his time here. He is a Special Education Teacher at WV. Coach Gill went to The University of St. Francis, where he played baseball.

2024-2025 was Coach Guzaldo's 3rd year in the program. He also coaches football at WV and is an alumnus who played basketball and football there. "Guz" is loved by the players and a fixture in the weight room. He is also an English Teacher at WV. Coach Guzaldo attended Western Illinois University, where he played football.
