Waubonsie Valley is hosting the Crohn’s and Colitis Shootout to bring awareness to a disease that affects about 1.5 Million people in the U.S. This event started in 2019 at Wheaton-Warrenville South under the guidance of Mike and Michelle Healy. They have a close connection to the disease because their son, Nick Healy, now an assistant at Waubonsie Valley, was diagnosed with Crohn’s when he was in 7th Grade. Nick has dealt with the symptoms since, including a surgery in 2018 to remove more than a foot of his colon.
On December 6th, 2025, fourteen high school basketball programs will come together for an outstanding day of basketball to support this fantastic cause.
This year's Teams: Highland Park, Huntley, Wheaton North, York, Naperville North, Normal, Glenbard West, Stevenson, Dekalb, West Aurora, Conant, Kaneland, Wheaton-Warrenville South, and Waubonsie Valley.
