At Still, we offer four Instructional Technology courses: Essential Technology (Grade 6), Creative Technology (Grade 6/7th), Digital Media (Grade 8), and Tech Revolution (Grade 8).
The overall aim of our Instructional Technology Curriculum is to provide students with opportunities to develop the following skills:
Creativity and Innovation - Students demonstrate creative thinking, construct knowledge, and develop innovative products and processes using technology.
Communication and Collaboration - Students utilize electronic tools, digital media, and online environments to effectively communicate and work collaboratively - including at a distance - supporting both individual learning and collective knowledge building.
Research and Information Fluency - Students apply digital tools to gather, evaluate, and utilize information. They analyze, interpret, evaluate, and create with this information.
Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, and Decision Making - Students employ critical thinking skills to plan and conduct research, manage projects, solve problems, and make informed decisions using appropriate digital tools and resources.
Digital Citizenship - Students understand human, cultural, and societal issues related to technology, and practice legal and ethical behavior.
Technology Operations and Concepts - Students demonstrate a sound understanding of technology concepts, systems, and operations specific to their course's technology concentration.
