CREATIVE TECHNOLOGY

Course Overview

Students will explore various methods and formats for storytelling through digital media.  They will learn to communicate clearly and express creativity across multiple platforms, using appropriate tools, styles, formats, and digital media to achieve their goals.

Through innovative design and creative communication, students will engage in a design process aimed at solving problems and effectively communicating purposes through new, practical, or imaginative innovative solutions.  Participating students will explore the essential elements that allow an intended message to function to create a positive individual digital presence.  

Additionally, students will create websites and games with thoughtful content and optimal structure.  These facets of creative technology will be explored while responsibly incorporating online content into unique web page and game designs.  To accomplish these unique creations, students will explore coding languages (HTML, CSS, Javascript, etc.) to find and fix issues that arise.  

Finally, students will interpret collected data to identify patterns, apply the data problem-solving process for personally relevant topics, and select appropriate data sources to solve problems.
