Watt are we learning?
In English Language Arts (ELA) second graders at May Watts are reading books about "Looking Beyond Yourself"
Looking Beyond Yourself challenges students to make thoughtful decisions when faced with conflict, understanding that it is not always easy to know the right thing to do.
We are finishing up writing a reptile research paper. The students are learning how to write paragraphs, take notes and restate what they have researched in their own words. We are working with an amazing book called Each Kindness by Jacqueline Woodson. Here is a link to hear the author reading this story. Each Kindness read by author

In Science we will be studying the interdependent relationships in ecosystems. We will talk about what plants need to survive in a particular environment, how seeds are dispersed, how animals pollinate flowers, how important bees are, and researching what adaptations plants have to live in different ecosystems like the ocean, desert, and rain forest.
