  • There is a keyboard shortcut to snap your screen to the left or right hand side of a Chromebook.

  • Simply press Alt [ to snap to the left or Alt ] to snap to the right. Then pull your other tab to the empty side.

  • Here's a video from the Gombert LMC Director showing you how:https://www.wevideo.com/view/1918790753

Taking a Screenshot on the Chromebook:

  • Allows your student to take a picture of what's on their Chromebook to send to his/her teacher.

  • If your student needs to take a screenshot on his/her Chromebooks, they need to press the alt and the little "window" key that is circled in the picture provided. This will take a shot of the entire screen and save it to their "files" on their Chromebook.

  • Students can then attach the screenshot to a Google Classroom assignment or insert as an image to Google Doc or Google Slides!

What is Google Drive?

Google Drive is where your student stores all of his/her digital work. It is your child’s virtual backpack, where they can store and organize assignments, documents, or class curricula securely, and access them from any device. This is where you will find Google Docs, Google Slides and other files your child creates or works on this year on his/her Chromebook. You can also access all of your child's Google Classroom work in one place in the Classroom folder.

You, as a parent, can access your child's Google Drive at any time on any computer, laptop, tablet or phone. Simply use the internet to go to Google.com and click on the sign in button in the top right hand corner. Use your child's credentials to login to see his/her work. There is also an app for tablets and phones.
