The purpose of this chapter shall be to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, stimulate a desire to render service, promote worthy leadership, and encourage the development of character in the students of Island Pacific Academy. Our two major club activities are the Food Drive in the Fall for the Hawai'i Foodbank and Kindness Carnations which benefits Shriners Hospitals for Children - Honolulu. Each member of NHS plans, coordinates, and runs an Individual Service Project (ISP) to help inspire service in our community.

The Educational Theatre Association (EdTA) is a national nonprofit organization with approximately 90,000 student and professional members. EdTA’s mission is shaping lives through theatre education by: honoring student achievement in theatre and enriching their theatre education experience; supporting teachers by providing professional development, networking opportunities, resources, and recognition; and influencing public opinion that theatre education is essential and builds life skills.

The purpose of the Japanese National Honor Society is to promote interest in Japanese and to recognize high achievement in Japanese by students of middle or junior high schools and high schools.

The student must be currently enrolled in a Japanese course in which they achieve and maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5
The student must have completed a minimum of three semesters in a Japanese course or must currently be taking a Japanese level 3 or above class, and be committed to continuing these courses throughout the rest of their high school career
The purpose of MAT is to recognize high achievement in Mathematics by students of secondary schools and to promote continuity of interest in Mathematical studies. This year we are planning on helping out with math tutoring and school-wide math activities.

The National Art Honor Society (NAHS) is designed specifically for high school students in grades 9-12. In 1978, the National Art Education Association began the National Art Honor Society program to inspire and recognize students who have shown an outstanding ability and interest in art. The NAHS strives to aid members in attaining the highest standards in art scholarship, character, and service, and to bring art education to the attention of the school and community.

Purpose: The purpose of our club is to learn more about Hawaiian culture through mo’olelo, at home activities, as well as hands on activities outside of online meetings once we are able to. Hui Ho’omau is an interactive learning experience where you will be able to meet new friends and develop new connections.
Activities: Online: We will hold zoom meetings based on a monthly set up. We are most likely going to partner up with Purple Mai’a Foundation through Michael Sarmiento and working on creating our own mālas in our backyards, it is yet to be determined
If we are able to go out: We will go to the lo’i and members will be able to get service hours. We will also do some beach clean ups.

Purpose: The mission of Rotary International is to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through its fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders. It is an international service-oriented club that aims to give back to the community. We hold monthly service events to aid the communities of IPA, Kapolei, and Oahu.
Sample Activities: Cleaning ships at Pearl Harbor, beach cleanups and writing letters to Kapuna.

Purpose: The Magic the Gathering club is a place where people can relax with the trading card game Magic the Gathering. People will also be taught Magic the Gathering skills including deck building, game play decisions, etc.

Island Pacific Academy’s Math League is a part of the Oahu Mathematics League that hosts statewide high school mathematics competitions. Starting in September and ending in April, we compete in various mathematics events once a month (with the exception of December). We strive to promote a love of mathematics and the use of mathematics outside of the classroom in other students’ lives.

Purpose: To cooperate together to create a fun and creative outlet for those interested in Minecraft and creative games. We will work together to build up our teamwork skills by playing interactive games such as Build Battle, Bedwars, etc. Minecraft will be used as a tool to make real life social connections and effectively make use of our creative skills. Because of distance learning, it's harder to communicate and make social connections with your peers. This club will encourage a safe way to make communication easier in a fun way.

Purpose: To have a mature and truthful dialogue to encourage self discovery, through philosophical methods of communication. Hosting an outlet of free flowing, un-structured, natural, and mutual discussion devoid of toxic or inconsiderate judgement /criticism. Members will be able to learn how to properly tell stories, share ideas, ask meaningful questions, formulate arguments, all to empower students in philosophically, academically, and individual.
Activities: We will learn philosophical techniques like the Socratic method to properly have mutual discussion for the sake of wisdom knowledge. We will meet twice a month on a time that is free for everyone, and we will ask and answer questions in the fields of metaphysics, ethics, epistemology, and aesthetics. All members have a say in the topics we want to discuss at meetings relating to philosophy, global, and debatable topics to share with the group. We will invite guest speakers to meetings from school faculty to knowledgeable peers who have valuable wisdom and ideas to share.

Purpose: The school newspaper in in charge of creating a (digital) newspaper for IPA’s announcements and happenings. This will create a unified source for students to go for announcements. This will also include things like editorials, cartoons, advice columns, and student writing/art submissions.
Activities: We will write news articles for school announcements and happenings, such as sports, plays, etc. Later we might write editorials, advice columns, and cartoons.
