Career
The academic programs at the department are designed to train students in practical and analytical skills that are useful in a variety of fields. The department also has a strong orientation for research. Apart from academic research, the field of research offers a wide range of options in action research and market research. The development sector is also a growing field and attracts several Sociology graduates. With a degree in Sociology, one also has an option to pursue a career in social work, film studies, gender studies, international relations, peace studies, exclusion studies, public policy, public health and journalism among many others.
