The speaker for our event was our esteemed guest, Dr. Archana Kumari who is Associate Professor at the Center for Media Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University. She is Principal Lead of the JETREG South Asia Regional Research Hub and a luminary in the realm of media and communication.

The workshop delved into the role of visuals as potential vehicles for misinformation and disinformation. Dr. Kumari discussed techniques for verifying visual content and essential tools to aid the verification process. She emphasized the lasting impact of visuals on choices and behaviors, and drew attention to the issue of "vulture journalism". During the interactive session, students enthusiastically participated in identifying manipulated images, underlining the importance of repercussions of tampering with facts and significance of verifying them through appropriate tools.

The session culminated with a vibrant question-and-answer session. Students sought guidance on encouraging their parents to adopt fact-checking practices and growing career opportunities. Dr. Kumari emphasized the need for engagement and effective communication with family members to promote media literacy at home.
