SciVerse I - Hands-on Workshop on Arduino was held on 15th October 2019. Arduino is an open-source electronics platform used in making robotics projects. The workshop discussed many projects, basic Hardware components, and Software components of Arduino. Practical such as 'Blinking of LED' and the 'Working of sensors' was elaborated, and a model of garbage collector based on Arduino was also explained.
SciVerse II - Hands-on Workshop on Solar Panel Usage was held on 15 October 2019. Solar Panel uses Solar Energy which is clean energy and has low maintenance cost with diverse applications. This Workshop encouraged students to switch to renewable sources of energy and contribute to the environment. A Hands-on session for making a Solar Mobile Charger was held, Concept of energy generation using solar panels was discussed during the workshop.
SciVerse III - Hands-on Workshop on Python was organized "for the students by the students" on 24 January 2020 by Ananta. Python is a general-purpose coding language, which includes back-end development, software development, Writing System scripts, etc. This easy-to-learn language, being used in almost every field, was discussed from the basics to the advanced level. How to plot Graphs using advanced modules in Python and much more was covered.
We have started out on the path of development and knowledge with SciVerse IV - Google Analytics Workshop. Google Analytics is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic providing valuable insights that can be used to improve the performance of your website and increase conversions. The workshop discussed the proper and correct use of this tool because it can do wonders for your websites.
The second destination in our journey with science was SciVerse V - Psychological First Aid. It is an evidence-informed approach that is built on the concept of human resilience. It aims to reduce stress symptoms and assist in a healthy recovery following a traumatic event, natural disaster, public health emergency, or even a personal crisis. The interactive and participatory webinar was well received and applauded by the audience.
Next up, we organized an interactive and comprehensive SciVerse VI - Stock Market. The webinar aimed to spread knowledge regarding the Stock Market wherein its basic functioning in a layman's language was covered. Real-life questions such as What is Nifty and Sensex? How can a common man invest in the Stock market? Brokers' Costs and much more were covered.
SciVerse VII - Figma prototyping tool was conducted next on 20th February 2021. The event aimed to spread awareness about Figma, a vector graphics editor, and web-based prototyping tool, that allows users to check if the requirements and the feasibility of a product have been achieved by the designed solutions and also provides for the prototyped design being tested and enhanced. The webinar was conducted in 2 sessions and received enthusiastic participation from the audience.
Ananta came back with another informative and enriching workshop SciVerse VIII- Stress Management. Stress management is a wide spectrum of techniques and psychotherapies aimed at controlling a person's level of stress, especially chronic stress, usually for the purpose of and for the motive of improving everyday functioning. In the workshop, different ways of managing stress were introduced.
Ananta conducted SciVerse IX on 12th April 2021, and this time we have an interactive and comprehensive workshop on R Programming. R is a programming environment and language made for graphical applications and statistical computations, machine learning and statistics, numerical analysis, etc. The fun workshop with loads of information for everyone who wants to learn the basics of data analytics was well received.
SciVerse X - Deepfake was conducted on 26th October 2021 by the mathematics department to explore what Deepfake Is! The workshop aimed to spread awareness about the recent developments in AI which can use someone's face to fit into someone else's to create videos usually called Deepfake.
On November 15th 2021, the Economics Department organized an insightful webinar on SciVerse XI - Shadow Economy: Opportunities and Threats. Shadow Economy refers to all the work activity and business transactions that occur below the radar. The Webinar threw light on how the Shadow Economy not only affects the economy of a nation but also has various impacts on the society.
Next up, the Geography Department of Ananta conducted a workshop on SciVerse XII - Forecasting: Understanding Weather Maps’ on 28th December 2021. Maps have played a crucial role in the development of mankind for centuries. Weather maps show weather-related conditions (like temperature and pressure) with the help of internationally accepted signs or symbols. The use of meteorological data on a weather map, including a variety of weather map symbols were discussed in the workshop.
Ananta organized a workshop on SciVerse XIII - 'A Full-Stack Responsive App' on 16th January 2022 under the Sciverse series. Ms. Ritu Singhal, Coordinator of Ananta, acknowledged the presence of the speaker, Ms. Sabhya Saini, an alumna of Batch’18, Computer Science, IPCW. Students from various departments participated actively in this workshop. It was interactive and engaging throughout.
A workshop on SciVerse XIV - "Cyber Security" was conducted by students of the Computer Science Department in order to make everyone aware about the cyber attacks, on 18th January 2022. Participants were made aware of cyber threats & attacks: 'Phishing, Malware, and Ransomware', Preventing Cyber Crimes, General Steps to prevent Cyber Attacks, and Social Media Safety Tips.
On the occasion of National Science Day (28th February, 2022), a webinar on SciVerse XV -Green Economy was conducted by the students of the Economics Department. The speakers talked about how the green economy results in improved human well-being and social equity, while significantly reducing environmental risks and ecological scarcities. Companies such as Zun Roof, Geeli Mitti, Proklean, and more, were talked about along with challenges such as: how 'one size fit all' approach is difficult to implement.
Since, In this new age of social media, it is difficult to slow down and overwork has become a trend wherein burnout is glorified and rest is condemned, the students of the psychology department conducted a workshop on "SciVerse XVI - Perils of Normalizing the Overwork Culture" on 22nd April, 2022. The workshop aimed to talk about the cons of toxic productivity, to talk about the importance of slowing down and learning to adapt and cope with daily challenges. A short mindful activity was also conducted to ease out everyone while making them focus on all the things they are grateful for, in life.
