Dress Rehearsal

All orchestra students will have the opportunity to rehearse as a large group at the respective high school.  We will have a "field trip" dress rehearsal day so the students can rehearse for an hour on stage and practice what the concert will look like. Be sure to fill out the permission slip so your student can attend!

Is my student in Beginning or Advanced Orchestra?

The 5th grade orchestra is also called "beginning orchestra" in case you have a 6th grader who joined this year. For our first concert, there may be some students who were in orchestra last year but are still playing with the "beginners". This is so that the students will feel successful at the concert as some of the "advanced"/6th grade orchestra music is pretty challenging.  If you would like clarification on which group your student is in, email me at steele.brooke@iowacityschools.org
