The Hawai‘i Garden to Cafeteria Program described in this Plan is an important component allows students to safely grow, harvest, and deliver fresh fruits and vegetables from a school garden or school agriculture program to the cafeteria serving that same school.
Garden to Cafeteria is an excellent opportunity to connect our keiki with where their food comes from. Being able to connect directly with the food they eat, especially when it is grown by them in their own school garden or agriculture program, increases the likelihood they will at least try a new fruit or vegetable.
