My project was based on the inspiration I got from a high production valued food magazine. I wanted to create something to involve everybody and their different dietary needs as well as, provide my readers with an educational aspect of cooking, with not only delicious recipes but a breakdown of the importance of incorporating high-quality ingredients into their lifestyle. This magazine is aimed to readers ages of 20+ and who have sparked interest in cooking at home with restaurant like outcomes. With this project I was hoping to achieve not only a magazine but to understand how a brand can spread its goals globally and how to influence, inspire people to change their day-to-day lifestyle starting from within. Tastebuds was made using a Canon 5D mark 4 camera, the help of photoshop and integrated with InDesign. Thus, the help of my kitchen. Overall this project helped me understand how from one idea a whole project could be made and disturbed in multiple ways to create company and the way media text can be interpreted and circulated around the world.

For my AS Media coursework, I have created a magazine, which is a hybrid genre of vegan food and healthy lifestyle. It is aimed not only at vegans/vegetarians, but also at people aspiring to lead a healthy lifestyle and maintain a balanced diet. My magazine has a relatively broad audience, such as it appeals to both males and females. However, my target audience is mostly liberal female vegans in their 20/30s who have a relatively high income. For example, I targeted female vegans through the articles about the eco-friendly cosmetic brands and vegan desserts recipes.

During the production of this magazine, I was hoping to create an image of an expensive food magazine for the people aspiring to lead a healthy lifestyle as well as maintaining a healthy vegan diet. I also wanted my magazine to look minimalistic and aesthetic without many cover lines or adverts, in order to attract an upper-class audience. Nevertheless, I still managed to target young people through the vegan travelling section and interviews with vegan celebrities.

I’ve learnt a lot while I was working on this magazine. For instance, I have learnt how to use InDesign for my double page spread and contents page, as well as Photoshop for my front cover page. Moreover, I have learnt how to use professional lighting in order to take photos of a food composition. I also managed to constantly write about my ideas, research and the production process on my blog.

For my coursework, I created a travel magazine that is a winter edition and that offers luxury visits and mentions about the cities culture, food and entertainments.

For my targeting audience, I mainly targeted the people at the age between about 35-60 for people of the status of middle class (A). My main focuses for the double page spread and cover page were of Vienna and Moscow. I included multiple pictures of the places I am recommend to visit as well as briefly explain them. As this magazine is a winter edition I focused more on different winter activities to do. I used a DSLR camera for pictures and I used adobe lightroom, adobe Photoshop and InDesign in order to work on my magazine and edit the pictures. All of this was a new experience for me as I never really used any of the software’s I have listed before and I also improved on my camera skills.

My magazine is part of the health/fitness genre that is aimed at women aged 22-50 to help them love their bodies which means that you can have a great body at any age. The aim of this magazine is to help women with their self confidence and it challenges you to be a better version of yourself. Secondly, with this magazine I was hoping to make it one of the best fitness magazines for women that inspires women of any ages to live healthy lives. I wanted to create a different magazine so I started researching different magazine genres and women’s fitness seemed more appealing to me then I went for it. The tools that I used to assist me with research and putting together my whole magazine was Photoshop, Lightroom, Indesign and google. In addition, to this I had my own blog and I used wix to help me curate it in a professional way.
