Behr Crouse Is 17 years old, from Conroe Texas, he is a senior and has been attending Interlochen Arts Academy for 2 years. He has been doing theatre since he was 11 years old and next fall will be a freshman at The Theatre School at DePaul University, in Chicago Illinois. He is incredibly grateful for everyone at Interlochen and how they have changed him. He is so excited for a bright future and seeing where all his junior friends who are soon to be seniors end up going to school. If you would like to know more about Behr take a look at his website: http://behrcrouse.com/
For Behr's Before and After Project he decided to write a poem that signified Jacks arc of aggressiveness towards the bird society. This aggressiveness is also shown throughout the progress of the show and would be even more amplified if his plan played out and Cloud Cuckooland came into existence.
Man will remember our names
painful blue sky
Wide and high
Fueling my drive
Low like dust or
A lack of luster
I must entrust her
Why work the rest of your life
When you can control others
I am sick and tired of being bossed around
It's my turn to make my mark in history
Man will remember our names
All I have to do is take this bead
They'll follow, I'll lead
Make success guaranteed
Man will remember our names
Oh high and mighty
Oh Lords and Kings
Oh man has forgotten but he will remember these
Man will remember My name
These birds
These puppets
These tools
I am gracious
I am restoring
I am fulfilling
You all will remember my name
Jack
Jack likes power.
He isn't the fondest of the city because it's a vast place where he could potentially have power, influence, and control, but ultimately doesn't.
He's very fond of gulliver because he can persuade and manipulate gulliver into doing what he wants. He has control. “He knows what's best for gulliver”.
When they arrive at the land of the birds he is amazed because it's a blank canvas for him to paint his legacy onto and control, he intimidates the sandpiper, manipulates hoopoe, plays the raven, but the eagle sees through him and his tricks. At the end Jack is almost surprised that he was able to do all of this.
When he and gulliver part ways he is sad because he no longer has gulliver as a puppet, and tries to manipulate him into coming with calling him naive, but gulliver stands up for himself finally.
Hoopoe comes in gulliver's place and there is an exchange reminiscent of jack and gulliver.

In 2009 there were protests in london, 2010 toronto, and 2017 hamburg.
Kettling (also known as containment or corralling)[1] is a police tactic for controlling large crowds during demonstrations or protests. It involves the formation of large cordons of police officers who then move to contain a crowd within a limited area. Protesters either leave through an exit controlled by the police or are contained, prevented from leaving, and arrested.
The tactic has proved controversial, in part because it has resulted in the detention of ordinary bystanders as well as protesters

“Haida stories tell of how the first people emerged from a gigantic clamshell on the beach of Rose Spit. They got out with the help of Raven, the most powerful creature from myth time. Raven was wandering on the beach, when he heard some noise coming from a clamshell. He looked more closely and saw that it was full of little human creatures. They clearly looked terrified by Raven and the great big world outside the shell.
"So the Raven leaned his great head close to the shell, and with the smooth trickster's tongue, that had got him out of so many misadventures, in his troubled and troublesome existence, he coaxed and cajoled and coerced the little creatures to come out and play in his wonderful, shiny, new world."

JACK/PEACOCK (Pavo Cristatus.)
The Peacock:
The Peafowl has 2 species residing in southern asia and 1 in the congo river basin of africa.
History-
In Hinduism, the Indian peacock is the mount of the God of war, Lord Kartikeya, and the Warrior Goddess Kaumari.
Peacocks come up in discussion of royalty as well, Chandragupta Maurya, the founder of the Mauryan Empire, was born an orphan and raised by a family farming peacocks.Chandragupta ascribed its name as Maurya, translating to "peacock- ness". Chandragupta established the uncontested power of its time. Its royal emblem remained the peacock. The peacock's significance of elegance and royalty pertained in India during medieval times, as it was the Mughal seat of power called the Peacock Throne.
Mating-
Male peafowls (peacocks) attract a mate using their vibrant colors and long tail feathers (trains), the more vibrant and longer the train means the harder it is to survive and if a male peacock is able to survive with those disadvantages it shows he's fit to produce strong offspring. During the mating season, the male peacock may mate with up to six different female peahens.
Lifespan-
Peacocks are seen as elegant creatures. Peacocks commonly get to about 20 years old, although some peacock individuals have been known to get to older ages particularly those peacock individuals that are in captivity. Generally, the peacock populations are not under great threat although the green peacock is listed as being vulnerable to extinction mainly due to hunting and habitat loss.
Predator/prey-
Peacocks eat grains, seeds, insects, amphibians and reptiles. They are known for their snake-fighting abilities. They hate snakes so much that they practically go out of their way to fight them, even ganging up on a cobra.
DISCLAIMER: it's not a fair fight and you feel bad for the snake watch if you want.

Despite their giant tail feathers, peacocks are able to fly, though they do not fly very far. When in danger, peacocks fly up into trees. They also spend nights in trees, and Peacocks can run quickly. Peacocks are one of the loudest animals on earth, calling out to each other during the morning and late evening. Peacocks make meowing sounds when it is going to rain. They also make alarm calls when they sense danger. Male peacocks sing to attract female peacocks.

History: Old east scandinavia, old danish, runic danish.
Location: north germany, denmark, scandinavia
Language: Runic danish, it's called runic because the main body of text appears in the runic alphabet. Unlike Proto-Norse, which was written with the Elder Futhark alphabet, Old Norse was written with the Younger Futhark alphabet, which only had 16 letters. Due to the limited number of runes, some runes were used for a range of phonemes.
Way of Living: The Vikings lived communally, in what were called ‘longhouses’, with many families living inside. People lived together and worked together to survive the tough Scandinavian winters.
Higher Power: Old Norse Religion (odin, thor…)
(Higher power relationship to the people as well)
Weapons:
Iron axe head discovered in 1904 in Denmark from the Iron age of vikings.
The Golden Horns of Gallehus from the early Germanic Iron Age in northern denmark.
