All students and families in grades ten through twelve will have access to Naviance. The primary function of Naviance is to electronically transfer application documents to colleges and universities. Statistical information is also available regarding IAA alumni matriculation data.

The Common Application, which is accepted by more than 750 schools, including some located outside the U.S., helps to streamline one part of the admissions process for students.

Through the platform, first-time applicants can apply to multiple colleges at one time. So students only have to fill out details that most schools require, like name, address, parental employment and education, and extracurricular activities, once.

The university of CA has one application for all of its campuses, so it does not participate in The Common App. There is a separate all-campus application for California State Universities.
