What do we need to do next? 

Downtown has truly transformed over the last 9 years. We have turned a corner and “grown up” so to speak; now we need to think about how to protect what we have achieved, sustain our momentum and maintain what makes us different and unique.  

Tell us what you think about these objectives as we look ahead to the next 5 years:

We will strive to be authentically Macon as we grow by:

1. Nurturing the can-do spirit that makes Macon unique, supporting and building capacity and social infrastructure;

2. Preparing for tourism growth and connecting destinations;

3. Balancing between entertainment and livability; 

4. Continuing to strengthen and diversify local businesses as a unique component of Downtown;

5. Upgrading and maintaining public spaces;

6. Strengthening intown neighborhoods as equitable mixed-income neighborhoods.
