I offer depth-oriented, trauma-informed psychotherapy to adults (18+) of all genders and backgrounds using primarily a psychodynamic approach but also drawing on emotion-focussed, behavioural, and body-based techniques as needed. I provide therapy in-person and virtually, in French and English. I am accepting new clients.
Therapy has the potential to allow you to gain a fresh perspective on life’s challenges and to respond differently to them than in the past. This is achieved not through advice-giving or easy solutions, but rather by creating a space for you to access your inner capacities through meaningful dialogue. I aim to give my full attention to what you bring into our sessions. Together, we will notice patterns and themes that emerge in your relationships and the ways that you manage challenging emotions, circumstances, and people. Continued work can lead to deeper self-understanding, which can reduce fragility over time and lead to growth.
I completed a Master of Arts program and clinical internship in Counselling and Spirituality at Saint Paul University, where I pursued research on the mechanisms of change in mentalization-based psychotherapy. I am continually engaged in professional development through formal education, ongoing supervision, and study.
Prior to becoming a psychotherapist, I completed graduate studies to the level of PhD (ABD) in cultural anthropology, and worked for 15 years in the field of social scientific research. This training and experience has given me a deep appreciation for the invisible socio-cultural forces that inhabit us and that can shape our experience at the deepest levels. I bring this appreciation to bear when working to understand another's point of view and complexity of feeling.
My services are reimbursed by all insurance plans that cover counselling, psychotherapy, or psychology. I offer a sliding scale for those who can't afford my regular fee and I have some pro-bono spots available on a first-come-first-served basis for those facing financial barriers to care. At Integrative Healing Psychotherapy, I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) practicing under the supervision of Dr. Natalie Charron, C.Psych., R.P. I am a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA).
I invite you to reach out for a free 30-minute online consultation to learn more and decide if I am a good fit for your needs.
A free consultation is a brief, no-pressure video call to ask questions, share what you're looking for in therapy, and get a sense of whether a therapist feels like the right fit for you. It’s the first step in our process at Integrative Healing!
Comfort with your therapist is the most important thing. You’re welcome to book consultations with more than one clinician to help you decide who you feel most at ease with. You can begin therapy after the consult, or take time to decide.
