Word Up! is the name of the GEP Project in Institut Les Margues of Calldetenes.
What's GEP? Generació Plurilingüe (GEP) is a programme of pedagogical innovation created by the Government of Catalonia. The aim of this programme is to improve students' foreign languages skills.
SCHOOL CONTEXT
Institut Les Margues is located in Calldetenes (Osona, Catalonia).
The high school was created in the year 2006, called SES de Calldetenes. Originally, classes were placed in a provisional building. In 2014, a new building was finished and the high school moved on it. In 2015, the name was changed to the current name Les Margues. This name was chosen because the new high school is built on marl, a kind of soil consisting of clay and lime. The official inauguration was in 2016.
Nowadays, there are more than 300 students. They come from Calldetenes, Sant Julià de Vilatorta, Folgueroles, Tavèrnoles and Vilanova de Sau.
