4th International Symposium of the journal Estudis Escènics of the Institut del Teatre (IT), organised in collaboration with the Associació d’Escriptors en Llengua Catalana (AELC)

The aim of the Symposium is to take stock of the current situation of Catalan dramatic literature and reflect on the path covered by our theatre since the start of the 2008 economic crisis.

This issue will be addressed based on four lines of debate that dialogue with each other: the first, the production mechanisms (and how the context determines the form of plays); the second, the validity of Catalan dramatic heritage; the third, the emergence of the dramaturgies of the real and the reaction of the poetics that call for fiction; and, finally, the diversification of dramatic languages that has characterised the current period.
