TPM 1

DATE: 25th to 28th of May, 2022
HOSTING ORGANISATION: COLEGIO VIRGEN DE LA ROSA, BURGOS, Spain

Initial meeting of the Global-Digital Literacy Opposing Big Errors – GLOBE project

Introduction

We are excited to share the highlights of the inaugural meeting of our new project, Global-Digital Literacy Opposing Big Errors (GLOBE). Hosted by Colegio Virgen de la Rosa in Burgos, Spain, the meeting brought together partners from Turkey, Italy, Lithuania, and Serbia.

Meeting Objectives

The meeting served as an opportunity to familiarize ourselves with our host school, which offers preschool to secondary education. We engaged in discussions to divide tasks, set timelines for project activities, and clarify budget-related matters.

Workshop & Insights

A workshop was conducted to emphasize the project's core focus—improving digital literacy and critical thinking skills among teachers and students. The workshop underscored the challenges of discerning factual news from disinformation, reinforcing our commitment to develop training programs and tools.

Future Plans

We aim to leverage peer-to-peer learning by involving students in upcoming activities. The next meeting, scheduled for fall in Italy, will focus on training students to critically analyze commercial ads. This will serve as a foundation for future training programs for project partners.

Cultural Exchange

The visit also included a tour of Burgos, where we explored historical landmarks and enjoyed local cuisine with our gracious hosts.

We eagerly anticipate future meetings, especially those that will involve students in this impactful project.
