The music of Kanye West influenced multiple of my productions. Many of his songs start with a slow, steady beat, build up throughout the song, and then gradually decrease, similar to the rising and falling action in a story. This is especially noticeable in his song Runaway. 

When I am producing a song that is more of a rock style and instrument based, I take much inspiration from the band Styx. Their songs do a very impressive job of keeping flow in their instruments and having a clear mood. 

Metro Boomin is a very popular producer of hip hop music. His songs have  a very smooth beat that flows very well with rapping or singing on top of it. He does not sing or rap however he works with some of the biggest artists in the world.
