Welcome to the start of a new academic year! We hope you all had a relaxing and refreshing summer break.

Our staff began the week on Tuesday and Wednesday with two dedicated INSET days, engaging in valuable training focused on continuously developing our teaching practice and driving positive outcomes for all our children. On Thursday and Friday, we officially opened our doors to the pupils, and it has been lovely to see them so settled, enthusiastic, and ready to get back into their school routines. Next week, we look forward to expanding our community even further as we welcome our new EYFS children and families.

We are also delighted to introduce several new staff members to Woodside this term. Please join us in giving a warm welcome to Mr. Zola, our new Pastoral TA; Mr. Carpenter and Miss Aufogul, who join us as Teaching Assistants; and Miss M and Miss Sales, who have joined our team as Midday Meals Supervisors.

I wanted to use this opportunity to remind parents and carers of safe parking. Cars should not park on the yellow lines or use this as a drop off point. Furthermore, members of our local community have complained about double parking and parking in disabled bays which are needed by our locals. meaning some are unable to park or access their homes. Please can everyone be considerate of their parking to ensure a safe and accessible environment. 

Starting next week, we are making an exciting change to our newsletter format. Each edition will feature a spotlight on a specific Key Stage, offering a closer look into their learning journey and celebrating what the children are exploring in their classrooms.

Finally, our first letter directory of the academic year has been sent out and contains several essential updates. This includes details regarding PE uniform updates and information about children changing for PE in school. As a key reminder, pupils should not bring any personal items from home into school, with the only exception being their daily water bottles. The directory also contains a letter regarding an upcoming Year 4 trip, details about our Meet the Teacher sessions taking place in two weeks, and an important letter regarding our RHE consultation.
