Dear Families,

As we approach the final half term of the academic year and we break for the half term holiday, it is wonderful to reflect on our summer achievements to date. A huge well done to our Year 6 pupils who recently completed their SATS. Throughout last week, the children demonstrated our core values. As our children begin the final chapter of their primary education they will now focus on their upcoming production! We will share more about this after the break. Following the half-term break, our children in Year 1 will undertake the Phonics Screening Check and our Year 4 children will complete the Multiplication Tables Check (MTC).

The Summer term also marks the return of one of our most exciting events of the year: Arts Fortnight. The theme for 2026 is Art in Bloom, an initiative designed to allow children to extend and deepen their artistic knowledge. This arts event is a cornerstone of our curriculum, fostering a shared enjoyment of creativity across all year groups and providing a unique platform for our children to develop sophisticated vocabulary and communication skills through the medium of the arts. Each class will embark on an exciting learning journey involving the study of influential artists and experimental technical work. This fortnight will culminate in a collective class outcome such as a large-scale mosaic, canvas or 3D sculpture as well as individual outcomes for every child. In addition to arts fortnight, the remainder of the Summer term features several key events, including the Foxfield Festival, our annual Sports Days and our final memorable event of Foxfield's Got Talent!

We are giving our children the chance to choose the reading books that we will use in our curriculum as part of the National Year of Reading, a UK-wide campaign designed to help more people discover the joy of reading. We have introduced the project to our children in assembly and each year group has now received copies of twelve carefully chosen, year-group appropriate books. In June, children will be asked to vote for their favourites. The vote count across all of Inspire Partnership’s ten schools will result in the top six books for each year group being placed in our reading curriculum (our reading canon).

Finally, we would like to highlight the launch of our official Instagram account Instagram: @foxfieldprimaryschool. This platform has been established to showcase the exceptional achievements of our children. We invite you to follow our page to receive regular updates on the innovative work taking place within our classrooms. We wish all our families a restful half-term break and look forward to a successful conclusion to the academic year. A reminder school will be closed for Inset Friday 19th June 2026.

 With very best wishes,

Megan Minnett, Tatum Sharp and all of the Foxfield team
