Curry for Conservation!

On Friday 10th May, our Sixth Formers held a quiz and curry night. Approximately 80 people including staff from the Thetford Academy and the community of Thetford turned up to support our sixth formers. The quiz involved multiple rounds including general knowledge, car brands, animal anagrams, disney, cocktails, music and Indonesia. All together, we raised over £1000 in order to fund our expedition to Indonesia. We are so grateful to our team who supported us on this night and appreciate all the hard work which went into this event. 

Our Sixth Formers also held a raffle in which there were lots of amazing prizes to win, involving: 3 high lodge family tickets (kindly donated by High Lodge), £10 Gift voucher for Thetford Garden Centre (again, greatly appreciated ), £30 voucher for Moomoo's piercings (a very generous donation in which we are grateful for), hampers, chocolates and pillows. 

In addition, the tables were laid out with information regarding the trip and the student handbook detailing information of the trip. We had a THANK YOU for Norfolk Community Foundation for their grant for 2 individuals within the team on the evening, and stickers from Operation Wallacea themselves.

Our team worked hard with The Thomas Paine Sixth Form and Thetford Academy to achieve this night. Included on the left is a poster with all the information needed for the signing up. More ideas are soon to come for fundraising events.

We are grateful for the help of one of our expedition leaders, Mrs Karim, who spent her Friday afternoon and evening to support us with making a delicious chicken curry and vegan curry, in which we also had onion bhajis on offer with the curry
