The LWRP includes proposed land and water uses and proposed projects. Based on information collected at the first community meeting in January along with input from both the Project Advisory Committee and Town staff, a preliminary list of projects has been development and is included below. The projects are organized by five "Opportunity Areas." These Opportunity Areas are consistent with the waterfront areas in the Town's Comprehensive Master Plan. In addition, projects pertaining to the entire Waterfront Revitalization Area are included at the bottom of this page.
1. Update Town’s Zoning Code to permit mixed-use development in the Pattonwood Area.
2. Pursue mixed use concept plan for Town-owned property and properties adjacent to Marina Drive.
2. Redevelop the former Irondequoit Northwest Treatment Plan.
12. Develop a pedestrian connection across Empire Boulevard to the Bay Park West trailhead.
13. Formalize a trailhead and accompanying parking area off of Empire Boulevard to bolster a connection to the Bay Park West trail.
14. Establish a transportation district for the LaSalle’s Landing area.
15. Add hand-carry launch and ADA-accessible launches at Bay Park West where Orchard Park Blvd ends.
16. Formalize parking area at Bay Park West where Orchard Park Blvd ends.
17. Update Town’s zoning code to streamline regulations applicable in waterfront development areas.
Condense the 3 waterfront districts. Consider including the Sea Breeze Amusement Park in the waterfront development district.
Evaluate and update the Town’s Environmental Protection Overlay Districts.
