This optional workshop is designed for those who will present their work at the undergraduate research day. Please prepare an A0 size poster for a presentation.

This optional workshop is designed for those who will present at the undergraduate research day. 

Items to prepare

• • Watch two videos

    • Effective poster design by Dr. Lars Steinmetz from EMBL Heidelberg [LINK] (about 1:51)

    • Poster presenting tips by Steven Chavez (UC Berkeley) [LINK] (1:27 to 4:05)

  • Electronic version of the senior thesis

    • 1 or 2 sentences of main points of your thesis

  • Draft of a poster (use the vertical template below) 

How to submit a completed poster (6 pm, (Tue) June 10, 2025)

• E-mail the pdf file of your poster to helpdesk@icu.ac.jp by. 

  • Subject Line: [URD poster] Your name

  • Make sure that you cc Dr. Seunghun Lee (seunghun@icu.ac.jp) and your thesis advisor.

Poster format

• Language of poster: English or Japanese

• Language of presentation: English or Japanese

• URD logos are available. Make sure to add one to your poster. [LINK]

• Powerpoint Template (縦長い, vertically oriented)

  •  A0 size (46.81 inches x 33.11 inches)

  • The poster should be vertical.

  • Templates are available at:

• First choose a design you would like to use.

• Then, download the version that is A0

  • The A0 size template can be found under "Standard poster sizes in centimeters (Height x Width)"
