We will provide the necessary documents and support as much as possible for Visiting Researchers to apply for a visa to enter Japan: "Cultural Activities", "Temporary Visitor", or "Family Visitor".
Those who stay in Japan for more than three months are required to enroll in the National Health Insurance system(insurance costs are to be borne by the applicant). By joining the National Health Insurance, 70% of your medical expenses will be covered by the insurance. Please refer to the following for details.
Visiting Research Fellow and Distinguished Visiting Research Fellow may apply for a room in the Residence for Visiting Researchers located in the Dialogue House on the ICU campus.
*Visiting Doctoral Research Fellows who may need assistance in finding off-campus housing, ICU Service Co., Ltd. may provide assistance for you.
*The number of rooms is limited.
*Fellows will be responsible for the cost of the on-campus accommodation.
Visiting Research Fellow and Visiting Doctoral Research Fellow will be given a working space in a shared office.
Distinguished Visiting Research Fellow will be given a research space in a private office.

Visiting Researchers are welcome to visit the ICU Library. The library offers a conducive environment for studying and research.
Visiting Researchers will be a member of "Library Friends," a membership service for someone who is neither a student nor an employee of ICU at present. Library Friends can get Library card, and receive a part of services (Entering and Borrowing).
Please follow the instructions below according to your preference.
For borrowing
Please refer to the Library Friends for the application details, and submit the application form to our library upon your arrival. Please note that you will be required to pay ¥2,000 per year.
For your application, you will be asked to obtain an approval from your ICU mentor and ask them to sign for "SIGNATURE OF THE GUARANTOR" on your application.
For entry and browsing only
Please print out the application(English/Japanese) and submit it to our library upon your arrival. If you do not have an ICU e-mail address, please fill in your e-mail address.
When your user card is ready, you will be notified by e-mail from our library.
Visiting Researchers can access the Wi-Fi network while on campus.
