If you do not have a connection to a faculty member of ICU, Please use "Faculty Search" to search for a faculty member and contact us. CGE will forward your inquiry to the faculty member you wish to contact. However, please note that we cannot guarantee that a faculty member will reply to you.

Letters of invitation cannot be issued prior to the approval of participation. In the unlikely event that the timing of your application to the ICU International Visiting Researchers Program and your scholarship application do not coincide, please contact your ICU host faculty.

Visitors on this  program may not teach  a course at ICU  during  their stay.

Yes, it is possible. If a visa is required for the Visiting Researcher's family to come to Japan, CGE will issue the necessary documents only if the Visiting Researcher's family come to Japan at the same time as the Visiting Researcher (if the Visiting Researcher's family comes to Japan at a different time, the Visiting Researcher must handle the issue on his/her own). Only spouses and children are eligible. Parents and grandchildren are not eligible.

Please note that the number of accommodations for family members is limited, so we cannot always accommodate your request.　For off-campus housing, ICU Services, Inc. will assist you.

In addition, please understand that the university will not provide any support for family members other than visa application and accommodation arrangements.

No, Japanese language courses at ICU are not available for Visiting Researchers. 

You may apply for membership of an ICU research institution. Please consult with your host faculty member first. Visiting Researchers are not eligible to take classes.

Temporary Visitor and Cultural Activities visas do not allow for engaging in income-generating activities. However, you may receive an honorarium for speaking engagements.
