Amanda Richmond Rogers Memorial Fund

This memorial fund was established at the request of Amanda’s family.  

The Richmond and Rogers Family have set up a Memorial Fund in Amanda Richmond Rogers’ name to support the work of the Alaska Dive Search Rescue and Recovery Team, a nonprofit organization that has been responsible for the continued search for Amanda, a beloved mother, wife, daughter, and sister, in Eagle River.

On December 23, 2023 Amanda and her husband Brian celebrated their 18th Wedding Anniversary by taking a walk, accompanied by their two dogs along Eagle River.  While next to the river, one of the dogs fell though an open lead while getting a drink of water.  Amanda and Brian rushed to help the dog, when Amanda went under the ice and did not resurface. 

Amanda worked as an emergency room nurse, a death scene investigator, a pediatric hospice nurse and a mother of four boys. 

All donations made to the Alaska Dive Search Rescue and Recovery Team are used to maintain, repair and replace dive team equipment, pay for fuel, work cold cases, pay for upfront costs during missions (until reimbursed by DPS), etc.   

All team members are unpaid volunteers (no one is paid), they pay for their own training, personal equipment and leave their paying jobs to respond around the state. 

Alaska Dive Search Rescue and Recovery Team (AK Dive Rescue) is a donation funded, all volunteer, unpaid, 501(c)(3) non profit public safety water rescue/dive search and recovery, team that exists to provide the Department of Public Safety (DPS) a statewide capability for search, rescue, and when necessary recover human remains or evidence from underneath the water’s surface. The team is activated by the State SAR Coordinator and can be ready to deploy for recovery missions anywhere in Alaska usually within two hours of notification. 

In addition, AK Dive Rescue is dedicated to preventing water tragedies through public education about boating and water safety.
