(body, evidence, underwater investigation, vehicle, or other missions approved by DPS)
Option 1 - Contact MATCOM and ask to speak to the SAR Coordinator then request us by name for the mission, so it can be approved and a Mission Number can be assigned.
MATCOM Phone Numbers:
Interior & Western Alaska — (907) 451-5100
Mat-Su Valley & Copper Valley — (907) 352-5401
Kenai Peninsula & Southeast AK — (907) 262-4453
All Others:
Emergency Missions (Actively occurring event or just occurred)
Call 911 and inform them you have a water related emergency. You may also request us by
name, but you need the closest rescue asset with water rescue capabilities to respond as well,
so, they can start working the situation.
After activating a response through 911 you may contact MATCOM and advise
them of the situation, so AST is aware of the need for a Water Rescue Team.
Non-Emergencies Missions (Event occurred over 24 hours before or unknown)
Notify local law enforcement or the Alaska State Troopers and they will need to request us by
name through the on-call Search and Rescue Coordinator.

Meeting Location
5848 East Tudor Road
Anchorage, Alaska 99507
All classroom team training, and monthly membership meetings take place at the SAR Cache, located on the grounds of the Alaska State Trooper Complex at 5700 East Tudor Road (on the south side of Tudor at the intersection with Boniface.) East of the complex (mountain-side) there is a side road that accesses buildings behind AST. Drive back toward a gate in front of a tan/brown sheet-metal building, address 5848 East Tudor Road. Park in the lot in front of the building and go in the brown metal door just to the left of the big, white garage door. Both the gate and the door are often closed and locked, and you may need to coordinate with an existing member to gain entry.
