Jamie Steller - Owner
Jamie is the proud owner of Independence Avenue LLC. The drive to create a disability organization first began in Summer of 2020, and she has been working to develop relationships, gain more experience and insight, and network within the disability community ever since. Jamie has a Bachelor of Science in Special Education, and she graduated from UW-Whitewater in December of 2018. Jamie taught in the public school system for 2.5 years, including .5 years at Kosciuszko Elementary School in Cudahy, and 2 years at Watertown High School. She chose to leave teaching in June of 2021 to pursue a full time administrator position at a sheltered apartment for adults with disabilities. Additionally, Jamie works as a respite provider for several families in Waukesha County, and truly realized the major gap between services for high functioning individuals with disability and those with complex disabilities, behaviors and/or medical conditions.
