7th Grade Social Studies

Welcome to 7th Grade Social Studies!

The 1st couple days of Social Studies have been short due to the heat but I am enjoying getting to know all of your students! You should have received a note home for you to sign and return with a little bit of information for this year and my class. Please reach out if you need anything! Students should bring their binders and blank tabs to school on Monday August 28th for them to set up. If you are unable to purchase these items please reach out. There is a small area for items students need that I can get the items from. Thank you!

Hello All!

Quick Update to October  in the classroom. Students are working hard at Creating Supporting Questions and Gathering/Evaluating Sources. We have been using sources from the Iowa Historical Museum to explore the mysteries in History. Our most recent one was about the town of Buxton, Iowa.

The New Unit of Human and Physical Geography starts this week and students are learning what different landforms there are.

Students are currently working on their end of unit project. Students may face some frustration as this Units skills are the hardest skills to master. The students are working on finding credible sources to answer questions on how geography impacts where people live. It may take awhile to get this skill down. I am always available after school most days and students can set up a time for me to work individually or in a small group with them to guide their research more.
