Upstream of the ADC a piezo tip-tilt mirror is the injection port for the light into the instrument core. It may be adaptively controlled by the feedback signal from the guide camera at 1kHz to better stabilize and center the PSF at the focal plane. This provides a sharper contrast in long integrations and allows the deployment of simple Lyot coronagraphs. All the axes are servo-controlled in close loop with active backlash recovery.
