As you probably know Florence is an extremely turistic city and, especially in the high season (that actually excludes only a short period after Christmas), it might be difficult to find an accomodation without enough advance. Also hotels may become very expensive, so we recommend the participants to reserve their accomodation as soon as possible.
If you plan to reach the venue by public transport, we suggest you an accomodation close to Porta Romana:
from where you can take the bus number 38, better the 38B which does not stop at Largo Enrico Fermi, (see here for more details). The Porta Romana area is also a good choice for restaurants and shops in general, while closer to Arcetri and the venue you will find almost nothing in the evening/night. From Porta Romana it is also possible to reach the city center with a 15-20 minutes walk.Â
